(Poll) Whoooo Did It? Whooo Did It? (UPDATED)

You remember the scene in "Mister Roberts" when James Cagney gets on the speaker, and in his famous accent, demands to know, "Whooooo Did It?!"

There has been a lot of finger pointing today.  Everyone has been targeted (well, everyone but the Clinton campaign).

A few Clinton partisans are blaming the sexist, liberal media. Some are blaming the caucus system.  And even others are blaming Chairman Howard Dean, and me, Al Rodgers (you have no idea what a honor it is to ranked with Governor Dean).

So let this community settle this the old fashion way - through a caucus!

Oops. Scratch that.

How about a Poll!  Yes, polling - according Mark Penn, polling is the world's oldest profession.

Drum roll........................

and the blame goes to...........

Re: (Poll) Whoooo Did It? Whooo Did It? (2.00 / 5)

Hillary is responsible for her own loss.  She came close, but that is that.

I state this as a HRC supporter.  Not all of us are blaming others.

however, I am very disappointed that people do not seem to see that sexism was used in the MSM.  I am not stating that had any effect on her campaign, but my god.

I guess I will have to chalk it up to sexism is in the eye of the beholder.

well, it may have been the best comment of the day, but that doesn't mean I am not disgusted by the total disregard of sexism in the MSM.

I think some have become desensitized to it.  Too many Hooters and Desperate Housewives.

sigh.

Re: (Poll) Whoooo Did It? Whooo Did It? (2.00 / 2)

Sexism is alive and well in the media. I personally don't think it had much effect on Sen. Clinton's campaign but it does have a large effect on women who work in media and for some women in public life.

Janet Napolitano, the governor of Arizona, where I live now, is treated respectfully but other women in politics in other places aren't as fortunate.

Re: (Poll) Whoooo Did It? Whooo Did It? (none / 0)

There probably was sexism in this campaign.

The biggest problem I had was that every time I saw "ZOMG SEXIST PIGS!" (paraphrasing) as a title, I skipped the diary. There were so many that took trivial semantic details and blew them so far out of proportion it wasn't worth the time to argue them. My pet example was when Alegre said that asking people not to "create chaos" is sexist because it paints women as hysterical. That train of logic whizzed past so fast I couldn't even tell what direction it was headed. Right now, I'm not sure if I could go clothes shopping without being called sexist because I prefer men's to women's clothing.

OK, that's a bit of hyperbole. I think you can get the general implications though. When every trifling detail is called sexist, regardless of whether it was or not, sexist allegations become white noise and easy to ignore.

Hillary took her shoe off and shot herself in the foot, then took her shoe off and shot herself in the other foot before repeating the process over and over. I can't say whether or not she would have been the better President, but she definitely wasn't the better political candidate.
